Environmental and climate protection has become a political, economic and social priority. The condition of our planet – of the air, water and soil – has a direct impact on our health and quality of life, while the dwindling resources and climate change are an increasingly serious threat to various areas of the global economy. Hotel Bania **** Thermal & Ski and the entire Bania Resort in Białka Tatrzańska have long been responding to these challenges by implementing an innovative environmental policy, limiting the negative effect of tourist.

ECO Bania

“We make ecology our priority!” – here at the Bania Resort, this is anything but empty talk. Below you will find some examples of environmentally-friendly measures which we have implemented with the natural environment in mind. We hope that you will join us in our efforts to care for our planet – for both our own sake and the sake of future generations.

We take care of water resources

Our eco-roofs, Terma Bania’s outdoor gardens, the Bania slope, and our ornamental pond are just a few elements that increase the runoff retention capacity inside the Resort.

Making most of geothermal energy

A geothermal heating plant, which recovers heat from borehole water, meets the Resort’s heating and cooling needs.

MBR wastewater treatment plant

We have our own wastewater treatment plant, which uses state-of-the-art MBR technology and guarantees the highest parameters of waste treatment.

Our own water source

We source our high-quality drinking water from our own spring water intake.

Cleaning up waste

We segregate and reduce the waste volume. We also recycle PET bottles separately and donate the caps to charitable causes.

Water and energy

The entire complex of Hotel Bania **** Thermal & Ski and Terma Bania uses energy-efficient LED lighting and tap aerators to reduce water consumption.

Eco laundry

Due to the large scale of Bania Resort’s operations, we established our own environmentally-friendly laundry.

Less plastic

We replaced plastic cups with reusable polycarbonate eco cups. We also do not use plastic straws or polystyrene packaging.

We support the zero food waste philosophy

Please try not to overfill your plates during breakfasts and dinners so that crumbs are the only leftovers.

Local responsibility

We contribute to the development of the local area in a variety of ways, starting with the most basic aspect, which is to provide jobs for local residents and to nurture the employer-employee relationship based on the fundamental aspects of CSR practices. The complex promotes culture and sport by collaborating with the municipality and supports local craftsmen and producers by purchasing their products, namely food products and works of art.

Local talent

Bania Culture

Kultura na Bani (Bania Culture) is a string of summer concerts organised for a number of years by Hotel Bania and Terma Bania. During the summer months, the outdoor stage is host to exciting live shows by many famous artists. The repertoire includes folk concerts, Cover Fridays and special events for children. All concerts are free of charge.

It’s all happening at Białka

We co-organise and support various cultural and sporting projects, such as: Festyn Białczański, Sport & Fun Festival, Goniacka, Tatra Road Race, Marathon Tatra Race, skiing Reksio Cup, Bezpiecznie na Stoku and Bezpieczna Zima safety campaigns and many others.

Health as a first priority

We organise health-promoting campaigns for the inhabitants of the Podhale Region and tourists, which include free annual check-ups on the occasion of Mother’s Day (e.g. mammography, thyroid ultrasound), blood donations and DMKS bone marrow donor registrations. In January, Bania Resort functions as the headquarters of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOŚP).

Sport in Podhale

We support the football team from Białka Tatrzańska and enjoy helping other local talents – we are extremely proud of our snowboarder Oskar Kwiatkowski or rally racer Konrad Biela. We also provide our support to the SuperRally crew and the organisers of cycling competitions such as the Tatra Road Race.

Charity work

Organising WOŚP finals

The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity will continue playing until the end of time and one day longer, and Bania Resort will continue playing with it! In 2021, for the first time we organised the local WOŚP headquarters in Białka Tatrzańska for the charity campaign final, during which we collected more than PLN 13,000, with our auctions fetching over PLN 26,000. As a result of a blood donation campaign, with as many as 65 volunteers, we collected a considerable amount of the life-giving fluid. We want to continue helping and also involve the local community in charity work, so in 2022 we are once again playing with WOŚP at Bania!

Szlachetna Paczka Charity

During this special festive time, it is our annual custom to choose a local family in need and provide it with support. Organising the items required by the family, packing them and passing them on gives us immense satisfaction and joy from being able to help others. That is why for many years, we have been engaging and simultaneously integrating Resort Bania employees in the wonderful initiative of Szlachetna Paczka.

Local and national support

Our complex provides assistance to local charity campaigns and holds fundraisers during Bania Culture events. We regularly provide vouchers and gadgets, which are sold in charity auctions to raise funds for those in need. We also renovate and add colour to corridors in children’s hospitals, including the Children’s Memorial Health Institute in Warsaw. We are also involved locally – we have collected over PLN 5,000 for the victims of a fire in the nearby village of Nowa Biała, to whom the Resort’s Management Board donated an additional PLN 50,000.

Helping local dog shelter

As of June 2022, we started cooperation with the Kraina Wesołego Czworonoga foundation, which looks after the Shelter for homeless animals in Nowy Targ. We will allocate 10 PLN of each day of stay with an animal in our Hotel in the form of a monthly donation to the Kraina Wesołego Czworonoga foundation.

We are a pet-friendly hotel, therefore we are not indifferent to the situation of homeless pets and we want to help them - we encourage you to adopt them!
